Introduction

The Spring Breakthrough program offers Duke undergraduates the opportunity to take an intellectually stimulating course over spring break. Spring Breakthrough consists of a variety of seminar-style courses that cover a range of topics, taught by Duke’s faculty. These courses are designed to create a space where students can explore their intellectual interests in a new and creative way with peers and professors they might not otherwise have the opportunity to encounter. Offering a wide range of course topics, students are encouraged to enroll in a course that is intriguing and of interest to them, but is outside of their intended field of study. Courses will run from Sunday March 12 – Thursday, March 16, 2023. There are NO prerequisites, NO grades, and enrollment in the program is completely FREE.

Spring Breakthrough is serious play – meaningful, intellectual, fun, and creative work in an inclusive environment.
